La Prensa de San Antonio.- The South Texas Women’s Business Center and Capital One Bank hosted the 2nd Annual Women’s Business Symposium. The event took place at the Norris Conference Center at Wonderland of the Americas Mall, 4522 Fredericksburg Road.
Julián Castro, Mayor of San Antonio addressed the symposium and talked about the current state of small businesses during the luncheon and Jennifer Elliott, Principal of Texas Women’s Venture spoke about key businesses and investments during the breakfast.
Also on hand were brilliant business women speakers Veronica Edwards of InGenesis, Della Guirdy of PRA Destination Management, Patricia Stout, CEO of Alamo Travel Group, and Janet Holliday of the CE Group, as well as speakers David McClurg and Tim Craig of Guerra Deberry & Coody who spoke about marketing strategies.
The symposium featured winners of the second annual business plan competition and the ACCION bravo! business award.
“This year’s symposium was aimed at reflecting, learning from others and building support for growth,” said Celina Peña, director of the South Texas Women’s Business Center, a program of ACCION Texas.
Mark Koshnick, market president of Capital One Bank stated, “We are pleased to join STWBC and ACCION Texas in providing resources and valuable tools to expand small business in Texas through symposiums like this. This investment is a step toward investing in the heart of our economy, micro and small businesses,” he added.
